Ahaadeeth and Sunnats of Traveling
Virtue of death as a traveler
43.) Nabi (Sallallaahu
‘alayhi waSallam) said : “The death of a traveler is martyrdom.”

Ibn Abbas (RA) ]
44.) Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Umar (RA) narrates that a person who
was born in Madina Tayyiba passed away in Madina Tayyiba. Nabi (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) performed his Janaza
Salaah and said : ‘If only he had passed
away in a place other than his hometown.”

Sahabi (RA) enquired : “And why is that
so, O Messenger of Allah ?”
Nabi (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) said : “If a person passes away from his hometown,
he is granted a paradise the size of the distance between his hometown and the
place of his death.”

The above only applies if the person has undertaken a
righteous journey.
